Understanding how the Kingdom Truth Overrules the Facts

Dr. Patrick Nyaga

Based on the Heavenly Kingdom principles, the TRUTH and FACTS are not the same. Now it may refer to the same thing according to earthly narratives but they’re totally different when it comes to God’s Kingdom principles.

Unfortunately, many believers experience problems because they see them as being the same thing regardless. This is a lie from the devil, and it can be dangerous and even fatal! So, let us define these two one by one.

What is a FACT?

A fact is a real, observable occurrence in the physical world, like an illness. Some people believe that once something is proven to be a fact, it cannot be changed, regardless of possible solutions or expert advice; they view such situations as fixed and not open to further discussion.

Example: Doctors once told a couple they couldn’t have children after several miscarriages. While accepting the medical report, they held onto their belief in God’s promise: “By His stripes we are healed” (1 Peter 2:24; Isaiah 53:5).

They kept on declaring the TRUTH instead of the doctor’s report. In a matter of time, Jesus Christ who is the TRUTH came on the scene and healed the wife and now they have grown healthy children. What did they do different? They stood on the truth of God’s Word, and the truth overturned the facts. Glory be to God!

What is the TRUTH?

In John 17:7 Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them with thy truth: thy word is truth.” According to Matthew 24:35, Jesus further affirms, “Heaven and Earth shall pass away, but My Words (truth) shall not pass away.” Additionally, in John 14:6, Jesus declares, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

Ladies and gentlemen, over two thousand years ago Jesus Christ was born of a virgin. That’s not physically possible – it’s just not possible for a virgin to give birth to a child without a man or physical intimacy. That’s a physical fact and we cannot deny it. But guess what? The spiritual TRUTH took authority over that physical fact and changed it into a physical reality. Amen!

The virgin birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, “the anointed One” became a reality and is now one of the foundational truths of Christianity. I believe this one event alone is overwhelming proof that TRUTH can change FACTS. What about the parting of the Red Sea? What about Jesus turning the water into wine? What about all the healing that Jesus performed along with calling Lazarus back to life?

Do not let circumstances determine your future; trust that God has promised you a good life.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, the Lord has plans to prosper you and give you hope. John 10:10 affirms that Jesus came so you may have abundant life.

Caution: Although many individuals claim to prioritize the Word of God in their lives, their language and behavior suggest otherwise. For instance, when someone expresses uncertainty about ongoing health challenges and lack of improvement, it may indicate either a lack of awareness or understanding of the Scripture that declares in Proverbs 18:21(a) that “death and life are in the power of the tongue”.

Maybe the reason they’re having so many physical problems is because of what they’ve said in the past. The words of unbelief that they have been speaking have created their present.

People often believed heart problems were inevitable if family members had them. This expectation has become a part of their mindset, so when they developed heart trouble themselves, it was no surprise—they had anticipated it all along.

You see, they believed the FACTS and doubted the Word of God. They even talked the FACTS. They chose to give FACTS the preeminence over TRUTH. All the while never realized what they were doing. Sure enough, in due time, what they believed and spoke worked to create and bring about the reality of heart trouble into their lives.

The Kingdom truth however is found in 1 Peter 2:9 which declares, But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light; 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy”. This verse emphasizes believers’ unique identity and purpose in God’s plan.

Brethren, I know this is a little strong, but God wants us to Trust His Word – The TRUTH. Only the TRUTH (God’s Word) has the capability to change the facts presented to you right now. It is NOT too late to reverse the words of doubt and unbelief spoken over your family. Start declaring God’s Word today in your life and you will experience great victories. Amen!

How to appropriate the TRUTH to change the FACTS

In order to appropriate the TRUTH of God’s Word effectively, we must exercise the same thing God told Joshua there in Joshua chapter 1:8; “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

It’s a matter of maturing spiritually and that won’t happen overnight any more than maturing physically happens overnight.

Most of us have never spiritually matured to the level where we can be as successful in this life by appropriating the TRUTH of God’s Word.

Before we can appropriate the TRUTH, we must understand its hindrances and how to deal with them.

The four main hindrances to the TRUTH

  1. Lack of knowledge of God’s Word:

Hosea 4:6(a) states, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Lacking understanding of the Word can hinder receiving from God; we may be able to pray but not ready to receive. Without a strong foundation in scripture, believers are more likely to adopt worldly ways, leading to challenges. Proverbs 4:20-23 emphasizes listening to God’s words, keeping them close, as they bring life and health, and advises guarding the heart, as it shapes life’s course.

  1. Unbelief:

Jesus Himself could NOT do any mighty works in his own town because of their unbelief. Mark 6:5-6 “And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folks, and healed them. And he marveled because of their unbelief”. Unbelief will cost you the blessings of God.

  1. Man’s Intellect:

You have most likely heard someone very intellectually state, “Well, you know, we need to remember that God has given us common sense, and He expects us to use it and quit bothering Him about every little thing?” True, but unfortunately in most cases that is an excuse for failing to walk according to their spirit.

That person is simply trying to justify their walking according to their flesh! Man’s spirit and man’s flesh are at odds constantly with each other (Galatians 5:17). We need to understand the nature and character of God. Jeremiah 9:23 says, “let not the rich men glory in his wisdom nor the mighty in his might but let him who glory in this that he understandeth God.”

  1. Trust Issue:

Many Christians struggle to fully trust God, often questioning Him when outcomes aren’t as expected. Proverbs 3:5-6 advises us to trust in the Lord rather than relying on our own understanding. What we say under pressure can impact results, as noted in Proverbs 6:2 and 18:21, which highlight the power of our words.

What are we saying after we left the sick person’s presence? Are we saying something like, “Oh my! It looks like if God doesn’t intervene in this situation, he’s not likely to make the night”; “Boy, doesn’t he look bad?” And then we’d probably hear another person agreeing with us and saying, “Man! Isn’t that the truth?”

It seems he’s close to death, but our focus was on the facts. By doing so, we let the facts take precedence over truth. I’m not claiming to have all the answers—only God does. However, it’s imperative for us to understand and act on our responsibilities as taught in scripture. After we’ve done our part, we should remain joyful regardless of the outcome.

The believers who make up the Body of Christ today (the Church) have been given both divine authority and divine power to accomplish everything that God wants to be accomplished here on Earth. But, up to now, we haven’t been very successful at it because we haven’t been placing our trust in the TRUTH and allowing it to change the FACTS! We’ve been putting our trust in the FACTS instead!

Another big lie that the devil has promoted and sold to the Church is that people don’t experience divine healing because they don’t have enough faith or even a crazier opinion that healing passed away when the last disciple died.

The Bible makes it clear in Romans 12:3 that every child of God has been given the same measure of faith. In the King James Version of the Bible, Matthew 17:20 states: “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” This verse emphasizes that even a small amount of faith, like a tiny mustard seed, can have a powerful impact. It highlights the potential for faith, regardless of its size, to move mountains, or in other words, to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles.

The Bible also says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 18:8).

John 14:12 states: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” This verse affirms that believers can do the works Jesus, and his disciples did.

How does speaking the truth change the facts

Brothers and Sisters TRUTH will change the FACTS. If sickness and disease attack our body and the doctor tells us there’s no hope, assuming he has not made a mistake, then we have a FACT. We then present it to God in prayer knowing what the TRUTH says.

The stripes that Jesus bore on His body healed us now over 2000 years ago. And since the provision for our healing was paid in full back then, we remain healed today (1 Peter 2:24).

Sickness, disease, and poverty are devil’s packages according to John10:10. They are not from God because Jesus prayer in Matthew 6:10 was that God’s will would be done here on earth as it is in heaven. Sickness, diseases and poverty don’t exist in heaven and therefore we cannot accept them in our lives.

Conclusion

1) Strengthen trust through regular scripture reading and prayer.

2) Address challenges with positive affirmations.

3) Avoid thoughts of doubt or disbelief.
